Office of Homeland Security and
Emergency Coordination (OHSEC)
The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Coordination (OHSEC) was created under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to ensure better safety and preparedness throughout all of its agencies and offices after the tragedy that struck on September 11, 2001. Mission
OHSEC's mission is to defend by integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve capabilities that ensure the preparedness of departmental emergency response professionals; provides a coordinated, comprehensive federal response; and delivers efficient and effective recovery efforts.
