About OO

The USDA has been delegated, since 1984, the responsibility for managing, operating, maintaining, repairing, improving, and securing its Headquarters Complex. This includes 14.1 acres of grounds and two buildings containing approximately 2.5 million square feet of space as well as the USDA-owned, George Washington Carver Center (GWCC) that comprises 350,000 gross square feet, located on 45 acres. The Office of Operations (OO) has the lead responsibility for managing the complex.

The OO is an office within Departmental Management (DM) and on a daily basis is providing a safe and secure facility infrastructure and administrative services in the National Capital Region (NCR). OO provides facilities management services, security, and operational support for agencies occupying USDA’s Headquarters complex, the GWCC and USDA leased facilities in the NCR. Additionally, OO provides support in the areas of engineering, architecture, space management, internal energy conservation, recycling, sustainable practices, physical security, occupational safety, and health. This results in improvement of the quality of work life for
USDA employees.

The Office of Operations is pleased to present the OO Catalog of Services. We are committed to enhancing customer relations, customer care, and service excellence. Please take a few moments to review the Catalog and become acquainted with all that we have to offer and use it as a resource for identifying and requesting OO services. If you have a service need that is not identified please let us know.

Additionally, as a part of the OO commitment to enhance customer service, we have established a Customer Relations Management Program (CRMP) under the direction of the Customer Relations Office (CRO). The CRO’s main purpose is to:

  • provide integrated, seamless customer service
  • ensure that all services are value added to the customer
  • enhance the customer experience
  • help OO to better understand customer service delivery needs
  • resolve customer service related complaints
  • identify service gaps in current offerings

The CRO is located in room’s 1028-S and 1030-S or you may call 202-205-9442 or 202-720-8645.

We look forward to fulfilling our commitment to service excellence and to a strong partnership.
