Our Mission
Under the Office of Procurement and Property Management (OPPM), the Physical Security Staff is responsible for the protection of all USDA assets outside the national capital region. Our mission includes the:
Ongoing conduct of site security assessments and compliance reviews
Assistance in the design of new construction and renovation security projects
Prioritization of security countermeasure requirements
Design and implementation of security command centers for special events
Development and promulgation of physical security policy and procedures
Design and maintenance of the USDA security awareness training program
Oversight of a centralized USDA GeoSIS (Geographic Security Information System)
