The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)

The Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) System is established for the codification and publication of uniform policies and procedures for acquisition by all executive agencies. The FAR System consists of the FAR, which is the primary document, and agency acquisition regulations (USDA-1) that implement or supplement the FAR.

The FAR is published in (1) the daily issue of the Federal Register, (2) cumulated form in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and (3) a separate loose-leaf edition. The FAR is issued as Chapter 1 of Title 48, CFR. The FAR is also published on the internet at http://www.arnet.gov/far..

Each such announcements will specify terms and conditions, in addition to those included in this document, which are applicable. References in this document to a particular regulation, or other document, shall be deemed to refer to such document as it may be revised or amended and any superseding document as of the time offers are invited.
