Recue worker carrying two animal cagesThe Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planning Division (CPD), under the Assistant Secretary for Administration, Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Coordination, serves as USDA's focal point for continuity of operations program planning and activities.

CPD responsibilities include:
  • Guidance for development of USDA COOP plans;
  • Development and maintenance of the USDA COOP template;
  • Coordination of the development and maintenance of the USDA Headquarters COOP Plan; and
  • Review and monitoring of USDA agency and staff office COOP programs and plans.
