  • Ongoing conduct of site security assessments and compliance reviews

  • Assistance in the design of new construction and renovation security projects

  • Prioritization of security countermeasure requirements

  • Design and implementation of security command centers for special events

  • Development and promulgation of physical security policy and procedures

  • Design and maintenance of the USDA security awareness training program

  • Oversight of a centralized USDA GeoSIS (Geographic Security Information System)

The Physical Security Office uses many different approaches in ensuring a secure environment for USDA facilities. A general Physical Security Overview is provided to show these different approaches.
