USDA Vendor Outreach Program

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) sponsors a series of Small Business Vendor (VOS) community outreach sessions. The purpose of these sessions is to provide the small business community the opportunity to meet with the OSDBU Specialists to discuss their capabilities and learn of potential procurement opportunities. OSDBU Specialists are located in each contracting office and are responsible for carrying out the small business program in their respective agencies.

The information on the following pages show in broad categories types of goods and services that USDA agencies procure in support of their programs, the various agency contracting activities, the major groups of products and services purchased and the agency contact(s).

Vendors must schedule an appointment in advance, with the individual Specialist(s). A listing of Specialists and their telephone numbers is provided. Appointments are limited to 15 minutes to allow all vendors an equal opportunity to introduce their company.

NOVEMBER LOCATION – PATIO, JAMIE L. WHITTEN BUILDING (ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THIS SESSION WILL OPEN ON NOVEMBER 1, 2016, AT 12:01 A.M.)

The following are directions to USDA’s Jamie L. Whitten Building, Patio, located at Jefferson Davis Drive, S.W. Metro access is available. The Smithsonian stop on the Blue/Orange Line will take you to USDA. To get to the Jamie L. Whitten Building, take the Mall exit, turn right on Jefferson Davis Drive, and come to the center entrance of the USDA Jamie L. Whitten Building. You will need to provide a form of identification to enter the building, driver’s license, etc.

It is anticipated that the sessions will be scheduled on a monthly basis. Please check the website periodically for the specific date. Any changes will be posted to the website.   There is no cost to attend.

No session in December.


Please schedule only three appointments per company with the USDA agency buying offices. If there are over three appointments, they will be deleted from your appointment schedule. If you are unable to attend after scheduling appointments with the Small Business Specialists, please call Janet Baylor to cancel so that she may open up the appointments to other small businesses interested in attending these sessions. Her contact information is below. If there are inclement weather conditions the day of the session, please check the local media outlets for news on any government closings or delays. If the government is closed the day of the session, the session will be cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
